Private tour rates

Kyoto/Tokyo area: US$500/full day, and $350/half day (expenses not included; see below) for private groups/parties up to 4 people (add 20% for each extra person over 4).
Other areas of Japan: Please enquire for rates for other popular areas of Japan such as Takayama, Hokkaido, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Okinawa.

Area definition: The above rates are for places within day-trip distance of either Kyoto or Tokyo: i.e. Nara, Osaka, Kobe, Kamakura, Nikko, Hakone, etc. The guide generally always picks the client up at their hotel/inn. Group size: The above rates are for private groups up to four people. We charge an extra 20% of the tour fee (full or half) for each extra person. Tour Length: Full day tours are 8 hours; a half day tours are 4 hours; over-time hours will be billed extra (please enquire). Expenses: The above rates include tailor-made daily itineraries (with final approval by the client) and the services of a friendly professional, bilingual Japanese guide BUT DO NOT include expenses: (transportation: taxis or private car/driver, subway, train; lunch; or entry). The client can control expenses to suit their budget and personal preferences (some love to walk most of the day; some want luxurious long lunches). In the end, the choices are all yours!

Japan travel expert consulting services

For consulting/arrangements related to matters that are not part of the day tours (restaurants, hotels, private tranportation arrangements, geisha/maiko evenings in Kyoto, etc.) we charge either extra consulting/arrangement fees.

Payment methods accepted

We accept bank checks drawn on American banks, wire transfers or cash payment (US$, Euros, Yen). Credit card payment processing will be up and running very soon.
